Challenge Calendar

Hi y'all! I was wondering if it would be possible to add a calendar to the site listing the challenges including the start and end dates? Having such a rough time staying organized lately, anyone know what I mean?

It is a great idea, but two things to address:

- what is the best format for the calendar (type of software)?

- it will be a challenge to keep it up to date - what is the best way to get help with this?

Hi Carol,

I'm just joining this site but thought I'd share my input on your questions. One, I would go with google calendars as it it quite easy to sync with just about everything (iphone, android, outlook, etc.). This way individuals will be able to subscribe to the calendar and sync the google calendar with their personal calendar. You also have the ability to embed the calendar on the website in a designated space for everyone to see without the need to sync or subscribe.

I know that there is a way to allow multiple people to create events on the calendar but I can't see to find how right now. What I would suggest though, is instead making a deadline for dates for the next month. For instance, for December if a challenge will be hosted by any individual, they must agree to host it by November 29th. This way on the 30th, one person can go in and add all of the events to the calendar at once. If there is a way to allow multiple people to creat the events, then just allowing event creation access to a list of individuals so that everyone would then be responsible for their own event.

There really is a number of options and ways to go about this. I'm more than happy to help where I can. If you have any question, let me know. :-)
