For those of you that use Photoshop Elements, I just learned a very important tip.... when you are designing (or even creating layouts), always use a percent reduction of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% when you are viewing your page. For some reason, if you are creating shapes, etc, you will get jagged edges if you are viewing your page at 23% (like I was doing to see the entire 12x12 layout on the screen), even if you try to smooth an element, it won't work as efficiently.
So now I'm always always viewing my layouts at 25% and then quality checking at 100%. Never knew this before, but it really makes a difference. |
In PhotoShop, using the "save for web" utility or the "export layers to files" script changes the resolution of your PNG files! Regardless of the dpi of your original file, these saving methods reduce the dpi to 72. Although it takes longer, saving items using the "save as" option is the best way to prevent those resolution problems.

I can't post in the rules thread because it's closed, so I'll ask it here.
What are the rules for designing a character (or other element) that is NOT disney, but you can see it's disney related, like this: allowed or not allowed? https://encrypted-tbn2.google.com/im...RlhxseqLpLiqC3 |
