I went for the pink & green. What a fun challenge. A lot of these are colour combinations I wouldn't normally use but everyone's pages have turned out great!

Goofy - blue and orange

Thanks for the inspiration Carole! Lucky for me, two of Goofy's main colors are opposites on the color wheel! I did need to add a little green, however, or it just wouldn't have been Goofy. Funny how so many of us have used blue and orange! |

Christmas is perfect to use the red/green combo. If you link to the gallery you can read the "backstory" for the layout. I haven't created that page yet (can you tell I am WAAAAAY behind in my scrapping - these challenges have been really helpful!) |

How did I miss this challenge? This looks like a good one. It's a good thing to get back to the basics like color theory.
Geesh - I sounded like Martha Stewart there!

Hi Jan, since this is an ongoing challenge, it's sort of low on the radar, so easy to miss. Glad you found it and I look forward to seeing some striking use of complementary colors from you. I have said that it's okay to use a layout from another challenge (this is the only time you can double dip) since this is more about self improvement/trying something new.
Great layouts everyone... I've left love for everyone so far. Thanks for trying this challenge.

Hi Carole!
I was wondering if you were thinking of starting a color challenge section in the gallery? Maybe we could entice some people to give it a try that way. I know it's been helpful for me. Thanks! Monica |

Hi Monica,
Do you mean have a category for color challenges? (like the category for weekly, template and telephone challenges?). I just wanted to let people 'double dip' on this challenge so I didn't really know how to work a new category in. Let me ask this, how do people feel about being allowed to double dip on this? (i.e. focus on the color guidelines while working on a layout for a separate challenge) Thanks for suggesting some ideas for more participation. Carol

I don't mind double dipping for this. This is more for inspiration - there's no prize involved. I don't have a design background at all and am such a mathematical/linear thinker (can you tell by my layouts-lol) that these challenges really help. You've done complementary colors on the color wheel...how about tertiary colors (did I get that right??)? Monica |
