Weekly Challenge 196 (8/7-8/13)
Well we all love going to Disney and all the exciting rides, but has someone in your family overcome a fear while at Disney? During spring break my DD 9 overcame here fear by riding Everest for the first time!
So the Challenge is overcoming a fear be it by riding a new ride, seeing a new show (lights, motor, action could be scary so some), meeting characters...anything really! Your layout should be Disney related Participants should post their layouts in two places: in the challenge thread, and in the appropriate forum. Please don't use a quick page to fulfill the challenges -that really isn't fair to everyone who created their own page to receive the prize, and makes light of the prize providers work.  Both my kids overcame a lot of ride fears!!!

My son has been afraid of log rides since his dad "made him" go on one in SeaWorld when he was 3 or 4. Every time we've been to Disney he refuses to go on it. This time my daughter was big enough and was PSYCHED to do it. I think a little peer pressure helped get my son on the ride. Though he was nervous the entire time. Here's that classic screaming picture that every mom hopes they have at one point in their children's life! LOL. Don't get my face confused. I LOVE this ride. I was screaming because I was already soaked - and I had the camera in my lap!!!

When we went to Disneyland with my granddaughters who were 4 & 5 at the time, the youngest was really scared of characters like Red Robin, and even Santa Claus. She wouldn't hug them at all. The first day when we went to Toon Town, her mommy had to stand with her next to Mickey (I mentioned her fear in the layout with Mickey), but by the end of our trip when these photos were taken, she was all about getting hugs with the characters. She really overcame her fear that trip, and since then she hugs Red Robin and sits on Santa's lap.
