Best Lens for Disney

Hi Photog Peeps! I was wondering if my fellow photographers have any advice on the best lens to take to Disney is? I have a 50mm Prime which works great, but was looking for a zoom, but not too big. Any ideas? I have also thought of renting a lens for our trip later on... Any suggestions would help! Trying to plan ahead! lol.. I have a Canon... not full frame.

I have a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G and absolutely love it for all around. It's heavy though so that is the only downfail. I too was looking for a good zoom lens and I found it. Again the only bad thing is how heavy. Not sure if Canon has a lens similar? Just my thoughts.

Thank you Cynthia! I may end up having to bring 2 lenses b/c I want my prime lens and I want a zoom, but b/c of the aperture on a zoom (the ones I can afford anyways) it doesn't take as great pictures indoors. I will check and see if Canon has a lens similar to what you have. f/4 is a great aperture for a zoom lens! Thank you again for your advice

I have the tamron version of the Canon L series lens. It is a 2.8f I think 28-75mm lens. It's only $400 or so compared to the $1100 of the Canon lens. I like it because unlike my other zoom lenses, it is 2.8f all the way through the zoom, it isn't variable. I haven't brought it to Disney yet, but I imagine that it's going to work out well.

I'm sure I'll have to keep the 50mm for those dark rides though. You just need it for those dark situations.

Since we are talking about lens....I am looking at the 35mm and the 50mm. Husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told him a new lens and since these are 1/4 of the price of the 18-250 lens that I wanted last Christmas, he agreed.
Anywho...I am going with one of these lens specifically for low light areas (inside areas, on rides, in the evenings, etc) Jenn you said you love your 50mm....do you feel like you are limited in the shots you take because it is so close up???

Jessica...last couple of trips, I have taken my 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses...but I mostly used my 18-55. It is easier for me to bring both and lock it up in room safe when I know I won't need it.

If I could afford it, I would get the 18-300 lens, whch is what my SIL has...but like Cynthia said, it is heavy.

I mainly use my 50 mm in the dark rides and such where low light is a concern and we are moving, so I need a fast lens. So I don't really think the 50mm is limiting at all. Usually I want to focus in on things that are a bit away from me, so it comes in handy. If it was more of a wide angle, I would get too much in that I don't want. The 50 gets me closer.
