Make a torn edge in StoryBook Creator Plus
1. Select the paper in your project that you want to show a torn edge.
2. Select the "Cut/Fill" ribbon at the top of the page. 3. Select "straight" and then select "Paper rip". 4. A shadowed area appears on your page with two green circles and a yellow "+" sign in the middle. By placing your cursor on the green circles you can change the angle of the cut and by holding the left button on your mouse down over the yellow "+" sign you can change the position of the shaded area (how much of your paper gets cut). IMPORTANT, the white torn edge appears on the portion of your paper that is NOT shaded. If you want your white torn edge to appear on the side that you have shaded, flip your shaded area over 180 degrees (don't invert the selection) If you want the shape of the rip to be inverted, then selected "Invert the shaded area" in the "paper rip" box that appears just under the tool ribbon at the top of your screen. 5. Three dashed lines also appear to the right (or left) of you shaded area. by clicking on and dragging either of the two outside lines (the green circles and a yellow "+" sign are on the center line) you can change width of your torn edge. Lines close together result in a narrow tear, while lines far apart result in a wide tear. 6. Once you have your angle and placement set, go back up to the box that appeared when you selected "Paper rip" Under "rip type" select whether or not you want a wavy edge or a rough edge. 7. Move the "rip reveal" bar to the left or right to select how much white edge you want showing (an example appears to the right of the bar). 8. Move the "rip irregularity" bar to the right or left to select how regular or irregular your torn edge appears. 9. Now you can select copy, erase, or cut and you'll have your torn edge. Play around with it a little and if you don't like the way it looks you can always hit undo and start again. Feel free to ask any additional questions. |
