I actually have two storage systems for my templates. Since I use StoryBook Creator, the templates are actually stored as pages in Storybooks on my hard drive. I have them in books by designer, and then by the number of pictures in each template (each template in this storage system also contains the designer name somewhere on it, just in case). That way, when I need a new template, all I have to do is import it as a page.

I also keep all of the original psd, png, and/or page files in folders on an external hard drive.

I do just about the same thing - except I don't save the original files. I do have files/StoryBooks for each designer, for amount of photos, and for anything special, like P365 templates. It does make it super simple to find and import them when I need them.

i like how i have mine organized, it seems to work for me =)

I have a Templates folder. In that folder i have folders for certain designers. I usually do this if i a) actually bought the templates or b) just have a lot of templates from that designer.

I also have a Random Templates folder that has folders for the number of picture spots each template has. I have 1-7 and then a 8+ folder. I use these for random templates and freebies. Usually when i download a freebie i make sure to rename the template so i remember where i got it from and who to credit in the gallieries.

I think this is the way I am going to go...I kinda have it set up that way anyways so it will be easiest to continue. I may also set up a preview folder with just previews so i can scan thru them. Now off to find the time to get this done

I have each template in its own folder. I name the folder #ofphotos_nameofdesigner_nameoflayout

All of the templates are within a larger folder (I actually have 3 of these, one for miscellaneous designers, 1 for just Cathy Zielske and Ali Edwards templates, and one for Cindy S templates). When I click on the main folder, all the templates within are then organized by the number of photos used for the template.

Here's a screen shot:
