Organizing with SBC+

I need help I'm a little anal when it comes to organization. I used to keep all my elements, kits, QPs, etc. separate in SBC+ but then they all moved on their own back to "my stuff". So I now have it all there and it's annoying, but whatever. My issues now is that I've got some kits on my laptop so I don't always have to have my external. I've added to the folder and now it's not in alphabetical order - is there an easy way or changing this? I'd at least like them in order if not in my own folders. LOL!

I don't have my SBC open right now.... but if I'm rememering correctly, open the folder (+ sign) so everything inside is showing.

Right click on the FOLDER... and select 'sort' that should put everything inside the folder in abc order for you

If I have something that I want at the top and out of abc order... i will rename the package with a zero dash (0-) before the name. That way it will default to the top!

Look at that! That is awesome - thank you so much! I never even thought of right-clicking. I'm going to have to change my naming system so that I know what the content is without looking

everyone has a different system for naming.... you just need to find what works for you

I put the designers name/initials then a dash then the kit name. (ie KS-Mouse Moments)
that way if I know I want to use one of my kits... or one of Kellybells or whoever, I can find them faster, since all of a particular designers kits are together. Its especially helpful since many kits have similar sounding names

I just move them manually. I have so many folders and content packages that it's easiest for me to just make sure I upload content into the correct folder, give it a name and then manaually sort it. I do begin every kit with the designer's name (or a shortened version of it) mostly so I can keep everything sorted in Windows Explorer, too.

That is what I did but then one day I opened SBC and all my content had been moved to "my stuff" and I have way too much to re-sort it all, so it's now just there. I was annoyed!

Humm... That's strange that it let you place stuff outside of "my stuff" in the first place. Mine's all in my stuff. Sorry that this happened to you. It's never any fun when all your hard work goes straight down the drain!

Your personal content will get moved back into "My Stuff" if you have your kits in a folder other than your default folder and the location in SBC somehow changes.

FOR EXAMPLE...
If you have SBC locate all of your content in an ExHD and for some reason you forget to attach your ExHD BEFORE you start SBC, SBC will default the location of all of your content automatically back to "My Documents/Creative Memories". When you change the location back in "User Settings", everything that is not CM content automatically goes to "My Stuff". This is a pain and I'm hoping they find a way to fix this bug in one of their frequent updates. This will also happen when your computer decides to change the name of and ExHD. This has happened to me twice and I agree, it is a pain.

Talk to your consultant and ask him/her to suggest to CM that they try to fix this. I've written them several times, but the more that ask, the more likely it is to get fixed.
