WDW Jedi Training Academy selection process: 'wait in line'
In an effort to more fairly select younglings and padawans for the Jedi Training Academy, Disney has now changed their procedure for choosing participants. Instead of random selection, there will now be a line for kids to wait in.
For more information, see article in the Orlando Examiner

Anyone know about the seletion to participate in the Jedi Academy in California? Do kids wait in line or do they get picked in the crowd?

I haven't seen it in about a year, but the way it was before was the kids all sit down in the lower area of the restaurant near the stage (i.e. on the 'dance floor') before the show. Then when the Jedi Master (of ceremonies) comes out, he asks which kids want to participate. Course a bunch of kids raise their hands and then he selects some of them - a lot of them, but still only a fraction of the kids there. I'm not sure if they still do it this way or not.

I hope they do the wait in line soon, just like in WDW
My son is a bit shy, im not sure he would raise his hand or hold a sign to get picked. In WDW we returned 3 times to the Star Tours area so he could get picked in the wait in line system. |
