Thinking of changing Camera..Advice?
I currently have a Sony A700 which I love but with all the pictures I take it's pretty worn out. This is Sony's Semi-professional but they have nothing new in the works at this level. It's either the Professional or I step down so I think NOW is the time to change camera brands. I have lots of lens I will have to sell as well.
Alright.... I'm thinking about a Nikon D300s? Lens - Nikon 24-120mm AF-S f/4G Nikkor ED VR Zoom Lens? I need a good all around lens for Disney Pictures in all types of lighting especially low lighting with quick response. I like to capture moments not just the standard group photos. Anyone have one? Either the camera or lens? Thoughts?

I have the Nikon D90 with the 18-105 VR lens. I love it. It takes great pictures. My other camera is also a Nikon the D40.
Canon does have better deals and they are also great cameras. |

I have a Nikon D300 with a 18-200 (3.5-5.6), a 28-70 (2.8) and a 50-150 (2.8)... I LOVE my camera! I take it everywhere and with the 2.8 lens I get awesome action and low light shots.
Happy shopping!

Thank you ladies. It seems the 2.8 lens is the way to go in low light. As we all know indoor photos with characters you need a lens that can handle low light but yet take great photos.
I would love to hear more if anyone has their thoughts...

Ummm...what does the 2.8 stand for? I know the zooms but not sure about that other number.

I'm going to keep an eye on this. I want a new camera as well. Honestly, I'm somewhat of a Canon girl, to be totally honest. But, if you want a Sony have you seen this new style they recently released? I played with one a bit at Best Buy and kind of fell in love.

Cynthia, so did you get the 300 or the 300s? One essential lens to have on hand is the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8. It is about $150. I bought it based on recommendations and it's affordability, and have been pleasantly surprised with the photos I've been able to get with it. If you look at the photos I've taken in the last year (on FB), most of the non-mobile shots were taken with this lens.
