Photo Swap - Carolc - DCL Sail Away Party
Hi Everyone,
I thought we'd try something new here on MouseScrappers. Several people like the concept of sharing photos, but we don't quite have the structure hashed out, so I thought I'd be the first volunteer, and we can sort of see how it goes - maybe we'll get some ideas for rules along the way. The title 'makeover' comes from the thought that the host may not be happy with a layout she created, and is open to having it 'made over' by others. And of course I thought 'Minnie' would be an appropriate term to put with it. As an alternative, the host may post a series of photos that they haven't scrapped yet (lack of time or lack of inspiration). This is what I chose to do (I have lots of photos, and never enough time to scrap). For this first challenge, I have posted some photos from a Disney cruise (this was my first Disney cruise. I took my mom with me on the Disney Magic Dec 2008). Photos: I have posted a number of photos from the sail away party here: http://www.pbase.com/slrrookie/sail_away_party&page=all Date: December 6, 2008 Journaling: Mom and I made our way up to the sail away party. She purchased herself a cool fruity drink and we were given colorful ribbons to wave along with the music. The atmosphere was very energetic - a typical Disney production. But, I had a very hard time celebrating - I had been near tears since boarding the ship. After seeing all the joy the children were having, I was so sad that mine were back at home If you'd like to participate, here is what you do: - create a layout using any photos from the location I've posted above (right click on the photos and select the save option). You can use any products you want - paper or digital. You come up with a title. - upload to the MouseScrappers Gallery - remember to change it to the 'Minnie Makeover challenges' category! - post a linked image to the layout here in this thread - PLEASE DO NOT POST IN ANY 'VENUE' AT THIS TIME. I don't want the DCL board flooded with a bunch of layouts of me and my mom at this event. You MAY double dip - i.e you can use these sail away photos for another challenge if you are simply out of your own Disney photos. Not sure if there will be a 'favorite'... I could pick one or we could all vote. This is just for fun - there are no prizes/compensation for the participants who scrap these photos. I look forward to seeing what you guys think of this and what everyone comes up with. If you have any suggestions for additional rules, let us all know! Likewise, let me know if you have any questions.

Love the idea of having something available that is Disney related for those of us running out of pics AND that we can use them for other challenges too and "double dip"!
I've seen other challenges like this where you download the pics of the person above you and then leave a link for your pics that you are dropping off. This is a unique twist on that and nice for me since I have a hard time coming up with Disney related layouts to be able to play in the challenges. We so need a Disney vacation again!!! (sigh)

I haven't set a firm deadline yet. We'll see how many people participate.
If you want to have more photo options, maybe someone else can volunteer their photos concurrently. (hint!)

Chef Minnie Mouse and mstalbot1 - thanks for being the first two to participate. I can see this is going to be very interesting to see how different people scrap the same photos. I left love in the Gallery. Thanks for playing!
Tanya - thanks for volunteering!
