Is there any interest in restarting The Telephone Challenge?
 

Hi MouseScrappers!

Just checking in to see if there are is any interest in restarting this challenge?

If enough people respond, I will restart it :) After that, we just need some hosts/hostesses to get us started. Hosting this challenge takes a bit more time than some of the other challenges once the layouts come in. I apologize for allowing the challenge to come to sudden halt!

I've never participated in this kind of challenge before, but I'd love to. Not interested in hosting right now, but would definately participate :)

Phrase challenge

Where anyone can participate and be asier to host just an idea:idea:

I think all of those ideas are great...but.... we are having a hard time finding hostesses and participants for the challenges we have right now. I think those would be great ideas for someone who is signing up for a weekly challenge.


As for the Telephone Challenge, I think it could be one of those where if someone signs up to host one, great! And if not, that's fine too. Maybe not have one going all the time like the other challenges. Or do one once a quarter.

I always liked the telephone challenges. I participated in several. I agree with Andrea. I wouldn't try to do one every month as there are so many other challenges going on, but perhaps on a whenever basis.

I also don't think there has to be a PP associated with this challenge. Just do it for fun... not a reward. KWWIM?

This is my favorite challenge, I loved participating and hosting. I'd be happy to join in again!

On another site, they call them a "digimorph", so at first I didn't know what this was. On their site, they only do it about 2-3 times a year, also. Sometimes, like right now, they do it in teams because they have so many participants and that makes it move faster and makes it a challenge/race

Just curious - why is it called "telephone" challenge, since there aren't really telephones involved?

I would be willing to do every single one. I just cannot make all of my own PP's.
I find I am spending all of my time taking care of my eight year old or getting my stuff for class ready.

If it starts back up let me know! harder since I don't have computer internet anymore but love me some wifi! lol

Meagan it's just like the old school game Telephone. you tell someone something and they tell the next person. By the end of the line the story might have changed the white rabbit jumped to Justin Bieber got a haircut.

We call it a "telephone" challenge because it is like playing the children's game "telephone". (Stand in a circle and the first person whispers something to the next and then is passed around the circle. The last person says it out loud and it rarely close to the original message.) I play it with my Girl Scouts to remind them that everyone has their own interpretation and beginning information is never the same after it has been passed from person to person.
It is great to see the progression. Some people scraplift the template, others the colors, and some even scraplift the "mood" of the layout. It is great fun!

I think it is a great idea to do teams so that it will move quickly. We have done it that way a few times and it definitely went faster.

I've seen "song challenges" where the host posts lyrics to a song and you pick a line from the song to use as inspiration for your page. (You had to use the lyrics that you chose somewhere on your page.) That might be fun to try if you are looking for new challenges.
