Chit Chat for MS March 2015 Speed Scrap Marathon

Mark your calendars! The annual MouseScrappers Speed Scrap Marathon is coming! The dates are March 20th - 22nd! :yeah:

The format is very similar to last year... lots of Speed Scraps, tons of amazing prizes, lots of chatting, goodie bags and LOTS and LOTS of FUN!!!

I will be back very soon with more information, a complete schedule and some eye candy to get the excitement started.

Oh a suggestion for you... You may need to update your JAVA to join in on the chats. Go ahead and do that NOW... so you will be ready. Jump into the chatroom before the 20th to make sure you won't have any issues.

So.... get ready for loads of fun and fellowship. Mark your calendars, meal plan early, sweet talk DH into giving you this girls weekend, update your JAVA, get your laundry and housework done early and be thinking about all the fun that is about to happen. :woohoo:

I'm so ready!!!! I need a girls weekend!!!! Plus I've already gotten some goodies and I can't wait to share!!!!!

How about you? You ready? Let's use this thread to chat about the marathon. :chat:

Disneysheryl65 03-01-2015 05:46 PM

Excited! When will it start on Friday - early in the morning or after work time? Just trying to decide if I should take a day from work :)

Sheryl,

The first Speed Scrap is currently scheduled for 1:00 pm EST. Hope that helps in the planning process. :)

I have a full schedule in a week or so. I'm putting the final touches on it now.

Looking forward to posting more about things soon.

Thanks!

I can't wait! My fiance works Fridays and Saturdays from 8-6, so I'll be occupying my time with the SS! :woohoo::yeah: I might have to sweet talk him into letting me do my thing on Sunday! I even put it in my calendar on my phone so I remember! LoL.

Woot! I need me a Speed Scrap Marathon!

kolohigirl 03-02-2015 12:52 PM

Can't Wait!

So happy I logged on today and saw the announcement. My laptop needs a tuneup and now I have the motivation to get an appointment scheduled so it is in tip top shape for scrappin......and the java update.

I look forward to this every year! Before long, I will need to head back to the Parks for more pictures.....I mean memories! Can't wait to see what challenges are going to be thought up.......along with everyone's amazing layouts! My scrappin time has been suffering....

And now I have motivation to get ahead in my studies, so I can participate more.

Thanks for organizing!
Stacy

Yay! I probably won't be able to do much chatting this year since I've been working weekends a lot recently and will need as much scrapping time as possible, but I'll do what I can to finish (who needs sleep?).

ColorCountryScraps 03-04-2015 04:52 PM

I'll be playing in the parks! Yea and boo. I'm sad I'm gonna miss the marathon this year. I might could do some on Sunday.....we'll see how the vacation hangover is :)

sthompsonfoto 03-04-2015 05:32 PM

UGH!!! I have homeschool convention that weekend on Friday and Saturday,:sad2: Stinkin kids education, if only the stated realized how much more important the marathon was!!!!:lol2: But I will be up late in the hotel room Fri to get some done :scrapbooking:and I have a 4 hour drive back home afterward on Sat, so I wont be in the chats much but I will be working my booty off to get those challenges completed in time to collect all the goodies! roxana 03-11-2015 07:27 AM

Hope I can make it, summer here so weekends are busy but who knows maybe we stay at home and make DH and DS watch a marathon too LOL

scraptraci 03-11-2015 01:45 PM

I'm brand new to the boards and am really excited to try this speed scrap.

I haven't done a whole lot of digi scrapping but have tons of disney trip pictures to use- i think i have always been afraid to put them on a paper page because i felt like i had to make it optimal. i really want to try to do these challenges as a way to get myself scrapping again and luck would have it we will have no hockey games that weekend :)

Aussiegirl 03-12-2015 01:39 PM

I'm sure you'll do great scraptraci! I hope you'll find that everyone is really helpful and kind here...if you have any questions or need help, feel free to ask!

mmjubilee 03-12-2015 02:09 PM

Yes!

So I am so excited. My parents just called and ASKED if they could have my two boys the weekend of the SS! Umm YEAH! Now I just have to keep my 3yo busy so I can scrap hahaha!

Thanks Aussiegirl, i think i will try to do a practice run on how to post files to the forum as i have never done that. I did follow the suggestion and updated my java and successfully logged into the chat app a few minutes ago

cmtscrap 03-12-2015 08:13 PM

I HATE that I am going to miss most of it for the 2nd time. I'm driving to Florida on the 20th to see Mom for the week and I have no idea how many I'll get to participate in on Saturday and Sunday.

meagan43 03-14-2015 09:31 AM

So excited! :yeah:
I wish that I could be going to more of the chats, my daughter is playing in Shrek, Jr this weekend and next, so we will be pretty occupied.
I still plan on getting the full marathon, though!!

:hooray:

ratgirl24 03-15-2015 07:54 AM

tinkerbell1112 03-15-2015 10:45 AM

Welcome! If you want to join in the chats, try logging in to the chat room this week to be sure your java is up to date. Post a layout to the gallery this week to be sure it works for you. Also, if you look in the forums under challenges and speed scraps, there is a post about tips and tricks that might be helpful. The marathon can be crazy busy but have fun and don't hesitate to ask if you have a question!

QuiltyMom 03-15-2015 07:30 PM

One thing I always do is choose which photos I want to scrap and match it up with the kit or kits that I want to scrap them with. That way you're not spending scrapping time trying to figure out what you're going to do.

Same here - Thank you, Boy Scouts! Ha!

Annet83 03-16-2015 05:09 AM

Too bad I've got a really busy weekend planned, so I won't be able to participate this time. Had so much fun the last couple of years!

lmshubrook 03-16-2015 08:41 AM

Thanks for the tips. I look forward to learning more.

Like Marie said be sure to have the current version of java. Mine was out of date and no one wants to be updating at the last minute...just sayin'

Don't wait until you have completed your first speed scrap layout to try to figure out how to upload! my very first lo I uploaded was for a ss and it took me forever to get it down. Do a test layout this week :) And have fun! If you don't get them all done, that's ok! use the time to get to know the other members and the website ;)

YEP! His Tenderfoot campout - first one as an official Boy Scout so my husband is going to tag along. He can go to all of them if he wants but I think he's looking forward to not having to do them anymore. haha

oh, and another thing that I was stressed about when I did my first few speed scraps. sometimes I don't like an instruction. I will make my page and then after the fact tweak it for my personal album. This mostly comes up when it says "no journaling" but I have a lot to say on most of my pages. haha. so I make the lo with no journaling, but then fix it after I upload it. So don't think that you can't do that. That's the nice thing about digital - the delete button can be used as many times as you want!
