-->>ss #96 here with Lisa<<--
Good afternoon scrappers! We will be :scrapbooking: in a bit.
As a reminder I want to show you what you will be playing for this fun Mini kit was donated by Kellybell Designs: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...liceMini-1.jpg Alice Mini :yes:Okay now for the fine print........ In order to qualify for this Participation Prize,:surf: layouts are due in this forum by (4pm PST, 5pm MST, 6pm CST, 7pm EST). Speed Scrap Guidelines: There will be 7 instructions in total. The first will be posted on the hour. The second at ten past. Third at twenty past. Fourth at half past. Fifth at twenty to. Sixth at ten to. The final instruction on the close of the hour. Instructions will be posted here in the forum as well as in the chat room. :thumbsup:Remember: There will be goodie bags for all participants who complete at least 1/2 (8) of the scheduled scraps.... plus another goodie bag for anyone who completes the Full marathon!! In order to qualify for the goodie bags... each scrapper needs to create a post in the master thread HERE and put a link to each of their LOs. You can post up until NOON EST on MONDAY in that thread to qualify for the final goodie bags. Technique Challenge: 1. This challenge is to discover or rediscover a technique you have wanted to use. First rule is no templates or masks (you can use a mask only if you made it) of any kind. Here are so many awesome techniques for us digital scrappers. One that I have seen here generally by the GIMP or Creative Memory folks and that is the fabulous globe. (Does anyone have the directions for Photoshop CS?) Tips at MouseScrappers: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...lay.php?f=9678 You can blend your own backgrounds: http://www.scrapsofmind.com/2007/09/...n-backgrounds/ http://www.scrapsofmind.com/2007/11/...shop-elements/ Reflection: http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...a+mirror+image Multidimensional Titles in Photoshop and PSE: http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...toshop+and+PSE Photoshop: http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...obe+Photoshop/ 2. Use the appropriate number of photos/papers for your technique. (If any number are appropriate…use as many or as few as you want). 3. Use elements from at least 2 different kits and repurpose (if a frame use for a different purpose or change it up) or add a style to it. You could even try brushes or different actions for this step. Have fun! 4. WORK A LITTLE MORE ON YOUR TECHNIQUE. 5. ADD SHADOWS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOUR LAYOUT NEEDS 6. Journal only if you want to ;) USE ONLY A ONE WORD TITLE. 7. Leave love for others. *******BE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE WHAT TECHNIQUE YOU USED******* My layout using reflection as a technique http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos/data/912/SS96a.jpg |

I have always wanted to use a photo as my background, so decided this would work well for this LO. Thank you so much Lisa for a great scrap. Thank to the sponsor for a wonderful prize. Well fellow scrappers off to work I go...................... |

I did a different kind of blending masking on the photo. I used the One Fell Swoop for the word "Minnie" and cut apart a swoopy swirl and added parts to the M and the e. I used an ornate frame behind the photo as an accent instead of a frame. also posted under AK Camp Minnie Mickey thread: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...6405#post96405 |

Also posted here: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...6418#post96418 I created the Goofy background by blending backgrounds and elements together. I seriously had no idea this was possible, so thanks a lot for this challenge!!! Also I focussed on the cluster, since I'm trying to improve myself in that. It's still quite simple, but I'm still learning ;) Oh yeah, also: the journaling paper was actually a frame. |
I blended two papers for my background
Can you tell I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of pictures left in my Disney scrapping book? :yeah: Forum: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...6424#post96424 Gallery: http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...enture&cat=all http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...enture_web.jpg |

This gave me an excuse to try to make a globe! I have always loved Paula's layout so I scraplifted it for this challenge. That is my technique - making a globe.

Lisa, thanks for the Challenge! I will leave love as soon as I am able (tomorrow once the SS is done, because I am going to need all that time to catch up from the 1st two days I missed 'cause I was on vacation on the Disney Dream. :) )
Here is my LO: http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos/data/912/SS_96.jpg Can also be found in thread: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...6437#post96437 |

Here is my page Lisa. Thank you for pushing me to try something new. I am not good at blending, so I blended a photo AND feathered the edge of the photo to blend that as well, which I have never done before. I also used a gear as a frame for my date.

Technique Challenge: 1 Technique – use a font to create an alpha (that is what you meant for technique I hope) 2. Used 1 paper to make the alpha 3. I used a frame and repurposed it as a paper topper (removed 3 of the sides). For the butterfly, I used the “intensify” filter in my software. I also tried the built-in brushes that came with my software (the heart confetti). 4. Added an outline color and embossed effect to the alpha. Posted here: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...2&postcount=88 Left love here (so far - I am also working on report cards so I'll be leaving more love after Wednesday when they are due.) http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...bola_small.jpg http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...-_Page_001.jpg |

Also posted: HERE I hope I followed the steps. The technique I used was blending the photo with the background. I used a vine from another kit and made it into a frame around the photo. I also used a sparkle brush to make the sparkles and used a gold glitter style to make them shiny. I am going to look further into the blending of the photo. I also like the relfection technique you used. Thank you for hosting! |
Here is mine..my technique was blending....I followed a tutorial I found..I don't blend very often and need more practice.

I could have used more time but I'm off to my niece's program. I've been wanting to try to combine my photo with one taken by a photopass CM. Here's by attempt:
