The Carolwood Pacific Railroad was the name that Walt Disney gave to the railroad he built in the backyard of his home (on Carolwood Drive) in Holmby Hills. He had a huge passion for trains, as can be seen by the presence in the Disney theme parks.
Today, the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society is dedicated to preserving Walt Disney's Railroad legacy. Though the house has been sold, the special barn where Walt controlled this railway was preserved and is now located in Griffith Park - it seems to be open to the public once a month.
Of course I love the "Carolwood" name.
Oh how I wish I could have seen this setup in his yard.
